It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mom and Gran.
On Friday January 10th, Dorothy Ruth Williams passed away at the Comox Valley Hospital. Dorothy was a remarkable woman who was loving, caring, nurturing and incredibly strong. She was adored by and adored her husband of fifty years, (Richard), two sons, (Jeff and Micah), two daughters in law (Andrea and Diana) and four lovely grandchildren (Emma, Hailey, Marcus and James). She is also going to be greatly missed by her sister Joan McLaughlin and her brother Duncan McLean and their lovely families.
Her passing also leaves a huge hole in the lives of her close friends. She was a kind, supportive person who would go the extra mile for her friends with no questions asked. Yet she was also a woman who loved a good laugh - and often the one who got others laughing.
Dorothy loved her garden. She loved the process of planning, planting and growing her favorite garden vegetables and flowers. She loved tending to the vegetables in her green house, watching her beautiful dahlias grow and feeding the ever-increasing colony of hummingbirds that flocked to her yard.
We would like to extend our thanks to all of the doctors, nurses and care aides for the kind and considerate care that they gave her.
At Dorothy's request there will be no funeral but there will be a party to celebrate her life on her birthday June 26th.
She will be truly missed and loved in our hearts forever.
