Died unexpectedly at home Friday, October 7th, 2016. Survived by daughter Meaghan of Toronto and brother Tom of Courtenay. Loved by everyone who met him, Doug was the consummate storyteller. Never at a loss for words, he always had a tale to tell about growing up in Ladysmith, his time in Australia, or years spent at the cabin in Ontario. His career as a sheet metal worker spanned 5 decades and his pride in his work carried over into everything he did.
A Celebration of Doug’s life will be held in the Great Room of the Holiday Inn (2200 Cliffe Ave., Courtenay) Saturday, October 15 from 1-4pm.
