Sawyer, Douglas James
1943 - 2005
Doug was born January 30, 1943 in Russell, Manitoba to Robert & Dorothy Sawyer and passed away peacefully with his family around him on December 25, 2005 (complications resulting from a stroke). Doug was raised in Foxwarren, Manitoba and came to BC in 1961 to join the Navy. Doug was predeceased by a sister (Roberta) in 1948 and his father (Bob) in 1968. He will be fondly remembered by his son Rob (Jackie), daughter Crystal, his mother and step-father Dorothy and Harold Gollmer, sister Shirley (Ted) Scott and brother Ken (Terry) Sawyer. Also, Bunny who made his last year very happy. Doug was a heavy-duty machine operator joining Local #115 in 1971. His favourite pass times included: golfing, fishing, curling and gambling.
