It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Clayton Grant Phillips, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Carl passed away peacefully at Glacier View Lodge, in Courtenay, British Columbia on September 25, 2019.
Carl was married to his wife of 66 years Catherine (Kay). He was an extraordinary father, devoted and loved. He will be missed and cherished always by his four daughters,
Sandie (David), Elizabeth (Chris), Bev (Tom) and Chris. His nine grandchildren: Kimberly, Wendy, Rod, Rory, Ashlynn, Katie, Kim, Graeme and Jamie, all have a very special place in their hearts for "Papa". He was very proud of his five great grandchildren: Kaydree, Breanna, Keagan, Greta and Sonny who have loving memories of their "Papa G". Carl raised his family in High River, Alberta. The eternal educator, he helped his four daughters with all levels of their education. He had a thirst for knowledge and he loved to share it. He was an active grandfather and great grandfather, present at hockey, wrestling, and soccer, school concerts, and birthday parties.
Professionally, Carl Phillips was a Chiropractor and Naturopathic Physician. He practiced for 50 years, an achievement of which he was very proud. He held executive positions with the Canadian Chiropractic Association and the Canadian Naturopathic Association. Carl received numerous awards from his professional associations and has a scholarship named for him at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Ontario.
Carl's wishes were for no service to be held. If desired, memorial donations in his name may be made to the Mountain Avian Rescue Society (MARS).
