FRIIS

Earl "Red" Wesley

December 16, 1932 - March 16, 2008

Earl passed away peacefully on March 16th, with his family at his side. He leaves his loving wife Annette, daughter Susan Chisholm, son Steve (Liz), grandchildren Bryan, Lindsay (Stephane), Kyle, Dain and Levi, and great-grandchildren: Aubree and Ronan. He is predeceased by his parents Sophus, Marjorie, stepfather Pete and sister Agnes.

Earl was born on December 16, 1932 in Biggar, Saskatchewan. Following his father's early death, his mother moved the family to Powell River where she remarried. Earl greatly admired his stepfather, and had many happy memories of his youth in Powell River.

Earl enlisted in the Air Force in 1952. He made friends wherever he was posted - in Goose Bay, Sea Island, 3 Wing in Germany, Edmonton, Trenton, Ottawa, Greenwood and finally to Comox. Earl was an Airframe Technician and Instructor. He was very proud of the service he provided as a peace keeper in Egypt, Africa and Italy.

When he and Annette retired they bought a motorhome. They spnt many happy summers camping and traveling. They have fond memories of all the friends they made at Airforce Beach.

Earl will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour. His grandchildren always brought a twinkle to his eye. He loved the time they spent together over a bbq, at the campfire or playing computer games.
