November 28, 1919 - August 21, 2009


Passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side in Courtenay, B.C. He was predeceased by a grandson Rodney, twin brother Jack, brother Stanley and sister Dorothy. Ed is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife Lois Eileen Webb (Eidt), sons; Doug (Jacquie) of Terrace, B.C., Stan (Lily) of Port Hardy, B.C., Ed (Heather) of Union Bay, B.C. and Jack (Lynn) of Duncan, B.C., daughters; Debbie (Linley) of Merville, B.C. and Carole (Richard) of Abbotsford, B.C., 10 grandchildren, his brothers; Vern (Eva) of Winfield, B.C. and Roy (Lois) of Surrey, B.C. Ed served 4 years in the Navy and was a veteran of World War II and was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Ed worked as a Heavy Duty Mechanic Supervisor for Commonwealth Construction in Burnaby, B.C. During his leisure time Ed enjoyed playing the banjo, fishing, working on anything mechanical, tinkering with boats and built his own naming it the Webbee 1. Ed was a hard working man who put his family first. If friends so wish, donations in Ed’s name made to the Alzheimer Society of B.C., #20 - 601 West Cordova Street, Vancouver, B.C. V6B 1G1 would be gratefully appreciated. The Webb family would graciously like to extend their thanks to the amazing staff at Glacier View Lodge in Courtenay. A memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 28th, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Union Bay Hall, 5401 South Island Highway, Union Bay with Padre Bob Cuyler officiating.
