Begley, Edna M., 89, died March 17 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Born in Pilot Butte, Sask., outside Regina, moved to B.C. during the depression, qualified as a registered nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Victoria in the early war years. While nursing the returning wounded at Shaughnessy Hospital in Vancouver she nursed and married George Begley, who was recuperating from his wounds as a soldier with the Seaforth Highlanders in the Italian campaign.
She is survived by three sons, George (Maurene), John (Jackie), Robert. Four grandchildren, Ryan, Christopher, Patrick, and Chantel. Numerous nieces and nephews.
