It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our husband and father, Ed, who passed away at the age of 81, Ed was born and raised as a youth in Sexsmith, Alberta. In 1943, Ed left home and joined the Canadian Army enlisting for WWII. After the war in 1946, his family relocated to Midale, Saskatchewan where they had a family hotel business. It was here that Ed met Dorothy Lee Sherrow and they married in 1949.
Ed worked as a salesman, sales manager, in the oilfield, and later owned and operated a drilling business and later a hotel in Sturgis, Sask. During these years, they lived in Weyburn, Winnipeg, Regina, Calgary, Sturgis, Kelowna and finally retired in Comox.
His many passions and interests included hockey, water skiing, refereeing sports, camping, hunting, and fishing. But his greatest pride and joy were derived from his wife and three daughters.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Dot, and children: Robbie (Gary), Amber, Nicole, and Caitlin; Rebbie (Craig), Jon, Lorissa, and Jessi; and Mia (Lyn), Kaylee, Alysha, and Alyssa. He is predeceased by his parents, Peter and Jean Stalberg, brother Jack and sister Mary.
