Egbert
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved father, grandfather and friend, Egbert Drenth age 93. Egbert was predeceased by his wife of 60 years in 2002. He is survived by his three daughters and their spouses Penny and Bill Lott of Princeton, BC., Sherry and Larry Badger of Penticton, BC, Clara and Peter VanDinter of Comox, BC, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Jan Drenth and sister in law Ria and Jan Warringa, in the Netherlands. Egbert was born in the Netherlands May 24, 1916, immigrated to Canada with his family in 1956 to Penticton, BC where he started his business of 30 years the Dutch Janitor Service. He moved to Comox in 1987 after he retired and enjoyed his hobby of wood working. Egbert loved to socialize and made many good friends over the years. He will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched. A celebration of life will be held at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay, August 29, 2009 at 1:00pm. A reception to follow.
