Our dear Mom (Grandma & Great Grandma) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 23, 2012. Pre-deceased by her husband Jim in 1980 and her mother Christina (a.k.a. “Shorty”) in 1990, left to remember her always are her children: Lyle (Sue) Boffy, Karen (Don) Parry, Janet (Rob) Banks; and her grandchildren: grandsons - Aaron (Rikki-Lee), Kyle (Robyn), Nicholas and Alan; granddaughters - Sarah and Kelcy; and her very special great grandchildren - Brooklyn and Grayson.

Born in Nanaimo, B.C., Eileen was raised in “Minto” before moving to Powerhouse Road (Courtenay) with her husband Jim, in 1948. In 2004 she moved to Delta to be closer to family and spent the remainder of her years there.

Eileen will be fondly remembered by many for her butter tarts, pies and Christmas cakes; vast teapot collection, and sense of humour.

There will be no service at her request. Family and friends are invited to an informal afternoon of tea and remembrance, on Saturday, August 11th from 1pm to 3 pm (Piercy’s-Mt. Washington Funeral Home, 440 England Avenue in Courtenay).

She will be laid to rest with her loving husband Jim, at the Courtenay Civic Cemetery on Mission Hill.
