Eileen leaves many lifelong friends that were a surrogate family to her.
Eileen was predeceased by her mother Annie and her father Charles, brother Frank Williams, sister Connie Gracewood, and brother-in-law Karl.
Eileen will be remembered for her sunny disposition, kind words and her loving personality. Her family was dear to her heart and her grandchildren were the light of her life. Eileen loved to sit in her chair to watch the comings and goings on Little River Road, always ready with a wave for those she knew. She enjoyed having plants and flowers in the house, playing a round of whist or crib, watching her favourite soap, and most of all, visiting with friends and family. Eileen never complained of her health or circumstances but instead always looked for the silver lining in adverse situations.
A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, April 20, 4:30 p.m. at Piercy’s Funeral Home, 440 England Ave., Courtenay, with a tea to follow in the hall.
The family would like to thank Dr. McCrone and the 3rd floor nurses for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Lung Association, 2675 Oak Street, Vancouver, BC V6H 2K2 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 102-1509 Cliffe Avenue, Courtenay, BC V9N 2K6 in Eileen’s memory.
