VIVIAN

Eileen Rita

February 9, 1922 - November 15, 2007

Passed away on November 15, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox after a courageous battle.

She is survived by daughters: Susan Vivian and Cathie (Guy) Katona; two grandsons: Michael (Devon), and Daniel; sister-in-law Ruth Fisher and by many nieces and nephews.

Eileen was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years Cecil Vivian in 2004.

Family was everything to Eileen. It saddened her deeply that she was the surviving member of the Fisher family: Francis and Sarah (parents); brothers: Frank (Maude), John (Anne), George (Dorothy), Harold (Mary), and Bill; sisters: Alice (Bob), Margaret (John), and Lena (Ray).

Born February 9, 1922 in Toronto, Ontario, Eileen, Cecil and their two young daughters moved to the Comox Valley in 1962. She became a member of St. John the Baptist Alter Society of Comox (20 years), was also a member of the CWL and received her 50 year pin.

Eileen absolutely loved being the Hospitality Minister at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church at CFB Comox. Hugs were her specialty, she loved giving them. Every Saturday, Eileen would assist with preparations for the 5:00 p.m. Mass and took pride in doing so.

She was an avid bowler, enjoyed a game of cards, her puzzle books and her shows, but watching the birds made her truly happy. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, her love of children and animals and by many as the friendly clerk at Comox Drugs for nearly 20 years.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Konway, Father Joe Killoran and Alice Pasaluko.

At Eileen’s request there will be no funeral service. Piercy’s - Mt. Washington Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
