MORGAN, Elizabeth

Elizabeth Morgan came to Canada in 1954 fresh from midwifery and nursing school at St. Barts, London, England. She and her husband Bill started their life together in Ottawa where she raised Roz, Debbie and NIgel. She was involved in her community acting in Little Theatre and volunteering with Mother Care.

In the early 70's she moved to West Vancouver with her children and then to Denman Island where she bought a farm with horses and ran a summer riding camp. Elizabeth was also the resident go to person for babies who suddenly arrived after the last ferry. She went back to nursing in maternity at St. Joseph's, Comox and later worked for the North Island, M.S. Society.

Elizabeth was a feisty, fun loving woman who believed "what good is truth if truth is dull". She made many life long friends and encourage her children to be independent and take life head on. She loved the sea, sailing and skiing. She adored her grandchildren Sage, Christopher, Jesse and Megan. She excelled at parties and entertaining. She loved England and travel. She loved her family and friends.

She will be missed.

We would like to thank the nurses and doctors at St. Josephs Hospital for their loving care and support.

A celebration of life we will be held later in July. We will keep people posted. Feel free to contact roz@roomworks.ca or debbie.anderson@sympatico.ca.
