It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Elwood Howard Peterson on September 3, 2016 at Cumberland Lodge.
He was predeceased by daughter Wendy (Rob) and son Brent, sisters Doris and Ardith. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gwen, daughter Patricia (Laurey), John (Corinne), Darrell (Melanie), sister Doreen, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.
Known by many as “Pete the Painter”. He was very proud of his family and community. Pete was very involved with and a life long member of the Comox Valley Curling Club, Comox Valley Lions/Monarch Lions, and was a passionate hockey player coach, as well as a supporter of the Comox Valley Glacier Kings.
Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so wish, donations in Pete’s memory to the local Lions Club or Curling Club would be greatly appreciated.

A Celebration of Pete’s Life will be held on Friday, September 16th, 2016 at 11:00am from Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Rd., Courtenay with a reception to follow. Interment of ashes to take place at Courtenay Civic Cemetery following the service.
