Emma passed away peacefully on December 17th, 2016, surrounded by her loved ones. Emma was born on August 12th, 1938 to Catherine & Frances Boland in Calvert, Newfoundland. Emma moved to Comox in 1961 where she married her husband, John White for 55 years. After moves to Germany, Nova Scotia & Ontario, the pair returned to Comox in 1987. Emma began work at CFB Comox becoming Supervisor of all base cleaners, retiring in 2005. Emma was well accomplished and versed in all areas of life, including the arts. She loved painting, gardening and travelling. She was a loving, selfless and devoted Mom, Wife, Sister, Nan, Great Nan and friend to all. She was the pillar of the family and community and made all of her surroundings beautiful. She took great pride and a leading role in rescuing two innocent Newfoundlander dogs, Chum & Champ that the C.V.R.D. were determined to destroy. Champ still survives. You were our East, South, West and North. You were our great elder who gave us so much love, knowledge and wisdom. You carried yourself with much courage, strength and grace. Now Emma, your great spirit flies with the angels. You are dearly missed and loved, we were all so blessed to be touched by your presence. You will forever be in our hearts, we love you.
