It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Eric Tone on April 19th 2020. He was a man of many names, Eric - Hunny - Daddy - "Hey Blue" - "Scotty the Body Braden" and most affectionately, Papa. He leaves behind our Mother Nicky, son Russell, daughter's Emily and Kaylee, and grand daughter's Mackenna and Stella. He always said his greatest accomplishment in life were his kids, and grand kids. He devoted his life as a Funeral Director, and took pride in helping other's through the saddest times in their lives. He was caring, compassionate, considerate, respectable, and loving. He always had a joke in his back pocket, and enjoyed bringing happiness to others. He had an infectious laugh and a smile that could light up a room. From a young age Eric was very passionate about baseball, although shortened in the talent department, he made a great Umpire, mentor and coach. Playing a big part in BC Minor Baseball and the BC Baseball Umpires Association. As well as a love for Wrestling, in which he spent many years travelling North America performing. He was involved in the Kinsmen club for many years in Courtenay, as well as joined the group in Trail when he moved last year.
Our Dad fulfilled a life long dream in 2010 when he opened his own Funeral Home. Which he proudly stamped our last name on. I cannot fathom the number of people he has impacted in his lifetime. He was always there to lend a hand, an ear, or a shoulder to cry on. He will be truly missed by those who were lucky enough to cross his path in life, and welcomed warmly by those waiting to see him in the next.
You will always be in our hearts. Love, Nicky, Boy, Pussycat, Beans, Booba, and Corn muffin.
