Sadly, we announce the passing of Chief Ernie Hardy Sr. on December 20, 2024, in Comox, B.C. He was 87 years old and was born, raised and lived in Comox all his life. Ernie was elected Chief of K'omoks nation until he retired some years ago.
Ernie was also a logger and a fisherman in his younger days making many friends along the way. His door was always open to people who wanted to talk. Ernie worked hard at getting the K'omoks Treaty going with his brother Stewart and Barb Mitchell of K.F.N. He made many friends along the way.
Ernie was proud of his many, many grand and great grandchildren. He said he was starting his own reserve. He was affectionately called "Bumpa" by them all.
Ernie will be sadly missed by all. Rest In Peace
Ernie was buried with a private ceremony at K'omoks First Nation.
