April 7, 1923 – September 7, 2014

It is our sad duty to announce the passing of Eve Chapman, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Born in Durham, England, Mom joined the WAAF in 1941 where she met Dad (Charles Harold Chapman). They married on Feb. 6, 1943. Mom came to Canada in 1945 as a war bride with their infant son Hal. As a military wife they lived in Alberta, PEI and Nova Scotia with the final posting being Comox where they retired from the air force. Dad spent many years as postmaster at Union Bay. He passed away Sept. 28, 1984.

Mom spent many years as a volunteer at the Cumberland Legion #28. She loved her garden and her dogs. She loved to be out picking blackberries in season and was quite a talented painter. She is survived by her children; Hal Chapman of York, England, Rus Chapman (Gracie) of Union Bay, Dee Nemanishen (Wade) of Nanaimo and Julie Goodman (Brad) of Nanaimo. Also survived by brothers and sisters in England. Missing her as well are grandchildren Mike and Kevin in England and Kelly and Donna in Canada. Mom also had 12 great-grandchildren.

We, the family, would like to thank the nurses and staff at Glacier View Lodge (Mom’s home for the past several years) for their exceptional care and support. Private family arrangements.

Flowers gratefully declined. Donations can be made to Glacier View Lodge Society or Alzheimer’s Society BC.
