WOOLMAN, Evelyn Fanny

April 23, 1911 – January 23, 1911

Evelyn Fanny Woolman passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 7:45 pm. She was born in Courtenay, BC on April 23, 1911.

The central focus of Eve’s entire long life was the deep, abiding love for her family. She became the rock upon which her family was based. Loving, determined, undefagitable, she never wavered in that commitment. Eve was also a talented painter, potter, gardener and singer. She was a sensitive, emotional woman who also possessed strong, unshakable beliefs. She expressed her joy in life daily and shared it always with others.

Eve loved the Comox Valley where she was born almost 99 years ago. She often said she had seen it all ~ from a rural farming land to what it has become today. She loved to recant stories of the valley history that she had observed.

Sunday family dinners were the highlight of her week. She took great satisfaction in her cooking skills ~ and dismay as she observed them fade with age.

In her final years she became progressively more deaf, still, she reveled in her family, their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and finally her great-great granddaughter!

A life well lived; Eve is deeply missed.

Eve was predeceased by her mother and father, Louise and John Catchpole and her sister, Beatrice Radford. She is survived by her husband, Harry Woolman; sons: Lew and Tom and her grandchildren: Roseanne, Lisa, Kate and Mike.

A Funeral Service will be held at Piercy’s Funeral Home, 440 England Avenue, Courtenay on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 1:00 pm.
