Passed away peacefully on April 26, 2003 at the age of 75. Born in Edmonton on October 28, 1927. Predeceased by his father Fred in 1958, mother Margaret in 1999, sisters: Patricia in 1975, Vivian in 2000, and son Donald in 1997. He is survived by his loving wife Marjorie; daughters: Denise (Garret) and Susan, Edmonton; daughter-in-law Cindy, Calgary; grandchildren: Gregory, Sarah, Graham, Kristen Dylan and Katie; nieces: Marlene and Cheryl in Vancouver, Shelley (Larry) Edmonton, Diane (Patrick) Portland, Oregon; nephews: Brian (Barb) Portland, Rick (Tracy) St. Helens, Oregon; cousin Dale (Janice) Gillard, Nanaimo; several great nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Bill worked most of his life in the Oil Service industry in Alberta with National Supply, Canadian Fina, Oil Equipment and in 1969 became a partner in Inland Valve Corporation, in 1979 became the President and held an interest in the company at the time of his passing. He travelled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Germany and Italy. in 1982 Bill semi-retired and they moved to Union Bay, BC where he had more time to do some sport fishing and play more golf and winter vacation in Arizona.

Bill had many interests. He rode show and jumping horses, enjoyed speed skating as a young man, took up curling while involved with the oil industry, became an avid golfer and belonged to the Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club in Calgary.

A gathering to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at the Union Bay Community Hall on Friday, May 2nd at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Vancouver Cancer Foundation Prostate Research Dept. Rm 580, 600 West 10th Ave., Vancouver, B.C. V5Z 4E6.
