Father Joseph Killoran

After a short battle with cancer Fr. Joseph Killoran has now gone to be with our Lord. He was born October 15, 1922 in Belledune, NB and passed away in Comox, BC on May 12, 2018.

As a young man he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from the New Brunswick Normal School (Teacher’s College) and a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Alberta and for 12 years was a teacher and Principal at the high school level. Father Joe returned to school and attended Newman Theological College in Edmonton and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology. He was ordained as a priest in 1963 and served in parishes in Alberta until he moved to Vancouver Island in 1980, he served the faithful in parishes all across Vancouver Island and retired in Comox.

Many sincere thanks to Dr. Potter-Cogan, Dr. Clark and the staff of St. Joseph’s Oceanview and the staff of the Comox Valley Hospital for their compassionate, loving care. A special thank you to all who visited him over the last few months which brought comfort to Fr. Joe.

A prayer service was held on Tuesday, May 15th and a Mass of Christian burial took place on Wednesday, May 16th at Christ the King Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Fr. Joe’s memory can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
