COBBAN

Florence "Freddie"

February 17, 1929 - April 13, 2009

The Cobban family is sad to announce the death of their beloved mother and wife, Florence Cobban.

"Freddie" was 80 at the time of her death and had lived a long, fulfilling life with Alex, her husband of almost 59 years.

Freddie was born in Naicam, Saskatchewan in 1929, but moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba as a child and that was where she started her married life with Alex. Between 1952 and 1970, Freddie became mother to five daughters: Deborah, Sandra, Brenda, Barbara and Lara. She was a fantastic mother and leaves her daughters with many wonderful memories of their "crazy", "hands-on" mother.

Alex will miss his life-long partner with whom he shared travels all over Canada, Japan, Scotland, Norway and the U.S. Most of all he will miss sharing his daily life with her.

Freddie is also survived by four sons-in-law, 9 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, 6 great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. In addition she had extended family members all over Canada. The family would especially like to thank Aunt Gail for all her support and love. Freddie was a proud supporter of Y.A.N.A. and the family requests in lieu of flowers donations to Y.A.N.A.

The family also requests that everyone cheer for the Canucks, win the cup for Mom!
