Florence Margaret Davenport left us unexpectedly on January 21, 2020 to join her husband William Ray (Bill) Davenport of 68 years who passed away on October 29, 2019. Florence was deeply cherished by all who knew her. Survived by her three children, Deborah, Kenneth, Robert and his wife Kelly; seven grandchildren Shaun, Christopher, Taleah, Haley, Haden, Tara and Evan; and, 5 great-grandchildren Lilly, Olivia, Kai, Kohen and baby to be, and sister Anita Smith.
Florence was the wind beneath the sails of the Davenport family. She was a long-time entrepreneur (co-owner of V.I. Tops and Bottoms Ltd and Lads and Lassies Children's wear) living and raising her family in the Comox Valley. She was a Soroptimist Club member donating many volunteer hours to her community.
Florence loved to travel with family and enjoyed unexpected adventures. Wherever she went it was a home for all. Florence was a remarkable woman who shared her love and support to all. Family was her first love and she would give whatever was needed.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
A part of us went with you, the day you were called home.
If tears could build a stairway, and heartaches make a path,
We'd walk our way to heaven, and simply bring you back.
In life we loved you deeply, in death we love you still.
Our hearts will always hold a place no one could ever fill.
We will always carry you safely tucked within our hearts,
Your love will shine to light the way from now to the end of time. No matter what the future brings or what may lie ahead,
We know we will walk together along any path we choose to tread.
So rest our sweet Mother,
Be at peace and let your soul fly free
And when it's our time,
We will join you.... for all eternity.
