November 21, 1943 - December 7, 2020
On December 7th, 2020, Ford White left us suddenly at the age of 77 years.
Ford will be remembered with great love by his partner and best friend Toni, and children Gregory (Sinead), Andrea (Dave), Jason, Chris (Megan), and Sean, and his beautiful grandchildren Justin, Cora, Joshua, Tyler, Kenzie, Evelynn, and Raphael. Ford will be missed by many relatives, friends, and colleagues within the community.
Born and raised in the Kingston area of Ontario to Vincent and Wilma White, pre-deceased by his sister Sharon in 1967, Ford graduated teacher's college in 1965 and completed his bachelor's degree at Queen's University over the following summers.
After moving to Nanaimo, British Columbia in 1980 to take the reins at Nanaimo Gymnastics School with his then wife Carol, the latter majority of Ford's life and career were spent on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
Ford continued his dedication to the sport of Gymnastics in the province of British Columbia where he was committed to building the mental and physical health of his athletes across all skill levels, and mentored athletes to perform at the highest levels from regional champions to national champions.
A connoisseur of fine wine, finer food and a passion for books and reading, Ford had excellent taste over all and a love for the quiet pleasures of home.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no service will be held in the immediate future. Notice of future services will be provided as circumstances evolve. In lieu of flowers or donations to charity, Ford would have wanted a good deed large or small at your discretion paid forward in his memory.
