Fran Hume passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 5th, 2006 in Comox, B.C. after a short struggle with cancer. She was predeceased by her father Harold Richardson and her father-in-law George Hume.

Fran is survived and will be lovingly missed by her husband of 45 years Jim, her son Michael (Daria) of Edmonton, her daughter Judi of St. Louis, Missouri, her brother Ray (Judy) Richardson of Edmonton, her mother Julia Ann Richardson of Edmonton, her mother-in-law Emily Hume of Orillia, Ontario, her brother-in-law Marvin (Mary) Hume of Abbotsford, B.C., her aunt and uncle Dave and Annie Metz of Medicine Hat, AB, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Fran was a member of the Glacier Greens Ladies Golf Club and loved to play golf ?and also enjoyed fishing.

She was born on November 15, 1942 in Medicine Hat, AB. Fran and Jim met when Jim was stationed in Cold Lake, AB, and they were married in Edmonton in 1960. Fran was a very giving person who never had a mean word for anyone. She was a stickler for the rules when she played golf and so was a very honest golfer and person. She was loved by all who knew her and was Jim, Judi and Michael’s “Pampered Princess”.

A Service of Remembrance in Celebration of her Life will be held at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD on Saturday, July 8th, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. with Chaplain Gord Carter officiating. Donations in Fran’s memory made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Comox Valley Unit, #102 – 1509 Cliffe Avenue, Courtenay, B.C. V9N 2K6 or the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 3433, Courtenay, B.C. V9N 5N5 would be appreciated.
