Frankie Mitchell passed away peacefully on June 1st, 2006 at home surrounded by daughters Gail (Jack) MacGregor, Beverley (Derek) York and son Glenn (Jenny). She was born in 1914 in Vancouver, B.C. and lived in the Comox Valley since 1952. Frankie was predeceased by her husband Alvin (1980) and son Brian (1966). She is survived by her grandchildren; Laura, Neil, Sharon, Devin, Tony, Damon and Lindsey; as well as 4 great-grandchildren. She was an enthusiastic member of local painters and writers clubs and the d’Esterre center. She was known for her zest for life, boundless curiosity and infectious laughter. Her many friends came from all ages and all walks of life. She loved traveling and new experiences and continued her love of learning and kept her sense of humour to the end. She will be sorely missed by family and friends alike. The family would like to express their gratitude to the various home care individuals whose loving attentions made Frankie’s passing easier.

A Celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, June 17th at 2:00 pm from Comox Valley Funeral Home & Crematorium, 1101 Ryan Road with fellowship and refreshments following in the “Garden Room and Outdoor Patio” of the Funeral Home.
