Crowder

Francis (Frank) Noel

born in Chester, England in 1914 and died at St.

Joseph’s Hospital, Comox on Tuesday, August 22, 2006. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years Kim and his eldest daughter Pippa. He is survived and missed by his children: Penny Quin (Alastair) of Scotland, Tim (Kelly) of Saanichton, Jay (Sylvia) of Courtenay, Christoph of Black Creek, son-in-law Tony (Judy) and his many and much loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren who are spread around the world.

A teacher for almost a third of a century, Dad touched many lives with his quiet yet spirited ways as he led his family on many adventures in East Africa, Europe and Canada. He finished his working life in the woods of Northern Vancouver Island, like so many of BC.s immigrants, where he thoroughly enjoyed the life, so different to anything he had experienced before. Upon retirement he fell into the role of gentleman-farmer on the farm he and Kim bought in Black Creek shortly after arriving in Canada. With their garden, their sheep and their bees, and with most of the family nearby they grew happily old together.

Frank’s family would like to thank all the people who helped to care for Frank during the last part of his life for their love, care and assistance. Private family arrangements entrusted to COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 102 - 1509 Cliffe Avenue, Courtenay, B.C. V9N 2K6.
