February 3, 1945 - March 7, 2023
In loving memory ~
Frank Lines, resident of Courtenay, B.C., passed away suddenly on March 7th, 2023 at the age of 78.
Frank was born on February 3rd, 1945 and grew up in Sidney and then Port Hardy along with his identical twin, Michael, brothers Larry, Robin, Dan and Steve and sister, Maggie. He spent his entire life on Vancouver Island—and worked in the logging industry until his retirement.
Frank was a beloved husband to Margaret. They met at an art show in 1989 and quickly discovered they shared a love for camping, hiking, skiing and cats. He was a devoted father to his daughters Sherri and Teresa (Don), and a caring stepfather to Carolyne (Peter), Diane (Evan), and Debra (Doug). He also cherished his role as a grandfather to Shaun (Dawn), Cory (Taylor), Kristy (Riley), Colleen, Heron, Jade, and Maia, and loved being a great-grandfather to his nine (so far) great-grandchildren.
Frank believed deeply in the importance of helping others. Something he gently instilled in his grandkids. He was deputy chief at the Ships Point Volunteer Fire Department (SPVFD) and was a regular volunteer at The Fanny Bay Salmonid Enhancement Society—where he built strong and loyal friendships.
Frank had a passion for the outdoors, and loved skiing in the local mountains and exploring his way down every logging road. He shared his love of nature with his grandchildren; and enjoyed hiking and boating with them, or teaching them about hunting, fishing, or working in salmon enhancement.
Frank's sudden passing has left his family and friends in shock and deep sadness. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will continue to live on.
A celebration of Frank's life will be held on April 29th, 2023, at 955 Balmoral Rd. in Comox from 1-4 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend and share their memories of Frank.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Fanny Bay Salmonid Enhancement Society, an organization that Frank was passionate about and dedicated much of his time to supporting.
