It is with great sadness that we are announcing the passing of

Frank Raymond Naswell


Frank was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba on Nov. 26th, 1933. He went to be with the Lord on Nov. 14th, 2009, after a long battle with C.O.P.D. at the age of 75.


Frank is predeceased by his parents John and Mary Naswell, brothers John (Arlene) Naswell and Larry Naswell, sisters Thelma (Gus), Abel and Doreen Goodridge, brother in law Walter Peterson and grandson Bryce Langhorn.


Frank will be forever loved and missed by his devoted wife Isabel Naswell. Also by his seven children Lu-Anne (Don) Dalziel, Wayne (Val) Naswell, Floyd Naswell (Fabienne), Barb Langhorn (Monty), John Naswell, Rob (Debbie) Naswell, Cindy (Mike) Palma. Also by his four stepchildren Linda (Don) Logan, Roberta (Dale) Penner, Robert (Elaine) Ostergren, Amy Apsouris (Dave), 27 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, sisters Martha Peterson and Trudy (Evert) Holm, brother Earl Naswell, sister in law Isabelle Naswell and numerous nieces and nephews.


Frank worked in many jobs from shoveling coal, milkman, scrap dealer, taxi driver, insulator in the mines and farmer while living in the Prairies. Frank and his family moved to the Comox Valley in April 1966. Shortly after arriving in the Valley he started Frank’s Auto Wrecking. He and Isabel started FN99 Auto Wrecking which two of his sons still run. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.


We would like to thank all of the ICU staff and Doctors who have cared for Frank during his illness, and for your kindness to the family.


A Funeral Service will be held on Monday November 23, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Northgate Foursquare Church, 1640 Burgess Road in Courtenay.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lung Association 2675 Oak St, Vancouver, BC V6H 2K2, would be appreciated.
