Franz Obexer

In Loving Memory ~
With sadness the family wishes to share the passing of Franz Obexer who died peacefully at North Island Hospital Comox Valley on February 5th at the age of 95. He leaves behind his wife Herta, sister Katherina, children Irene Brabazon, Margaret Douglas (Fred), Peter Obexer, grandchild Mikal Birtwistle (Jen) and great grandchildren Alexandra and Josphine Birtwistle. Predeceased by his three sisters Stefanni, Barbara and Johanna.
Franz was born in Waidbruck, Northern Italy and immigrated to Canada in November 1951. He and his wife Herta moved to Black Creek in 1957 and started a dedicated life as a successful and well-respected farmer. He continued farming well into his late 80's. Franz spent the last few years of his life being well cared for by the loving owner Evelyn and her dedicated staff of the Cummings Home in Courtenay.
Burial will be held at the Black Creek Cemetery Thursday February 17th at 1pm.
Franz had a long and fascinating life which we would like to share with you at a Celebration of Life to be held at The Living Water Church, 2222 Regent Rd, Black Creek, March 5th at 1pm.
