1942-2008


Frederik (Frits) Nicolaas Dewitt , born Feb 25, 1942, passed away suddenly from a massive heart attack on July 14, 2008.

Frits emigrated from Holland in 1952 with his family to the Comox Valley. Having had his schooling in Courtenay and having a variety of jobs, Frits was well known for his painting, playing in bands and final working years at Wal-Mart. His hobbies included music, ‘Old Timers’ soccer and a passion for motorcycle riding.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his son Doug (Kim), grandchildren Shaun and Emily of Crofton, siblings Betty (John) of Duncan, Ann (Bram) of Nanaimo, John (Marjorie) of Comox, Bert (Linda) of Nanaimo, Chris (Hilary) and Elsa (Larry) of Courtenay and extended family and friends, many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

Frits was loved by all. His warm smile, hugs, and laughter will be missed and remembered.

To celebrate his life, family and friends are invited to Rathtrevor Provincial Park, Parksville, on July 20, 2008 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the S.P.C.A or Y.A.N.A.
