G.W. Merle Currey
July 22nd, 1927 – October 8th, 2012
Merle passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a short illness at the age of 85. Merle returned from the Canadian Railroad as a Locomotive Engineer after 35 years of service.
Mom and Dad then moved to their retirement home at Rush Bay at Lake of the Woods, Ontario, and spent 13 years enjoying every minute of it. In 1999 they moved out west to Comox, B.C. where Dad golfed, curled and spent memorable times with his grandsons.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years Louise, sons Garry, Bob, Randy and their daughter Deanna, grandsons Graham and Daniel Condly and his great granddaughter Ilan Lou Condly and sister Madeline Brown.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 26th at Comox United Church at 2pm. Tea and sandwiches prepared by UCW following the service.
