July 13, 1942 - April 19, 2015
(Dorothy) Gail was born on July 13, 1942 in Pincher Creek, to Audrey & Cecil Beer. She sadly passed away on April 19, 2015 in Merville, BC, surrounded by love and family.
Gail married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Donald Petersen in 1962, and together they were blessed with three children, Bob, Sherry and Joanne. Sadly Donny passed away on June 3, 1973. Gail and the kids lived in Yellowknife for a short time, before making their home on Vancouver Island, at the ocean that she loved so much.
Gail worked hard and accomplished much in her life, and raised three amazing people. Her family is forever grateful to each of them as well as their partners, and each of Gail’s grandkids for showing her such compassion, respect and unconditional love. She taught you well.
Gail is survived by, and will be deeply missed by her children, Bob (Kim), Sherry (Ferg) and Joanne (Fredy), as well as her cherished
grandchildren, Zack, Dawn, Brandon, Lee, Stacy, Devin, Maddy, and great-grandson Ryder. Gail is also survived and loved dearly by her mother Audrey Beer, her sisters Linda (Phil), Betty (Larry), Wendy (Jerry), Marj (Mike) & Carol, and her brother Jim (Celeste).
She will always be remembered with love by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Gail was predeceased by her father Cecil Beer, her husband Don
Petersen, and grandsons Kyle and Tyler. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her.
A gathering to celebrate Gail’s life will be held at Kitty Coleman Beach picnic area Saturday, May 9 at 1 PM. If so desired, donations may be made the Canadian Cancer Society.
