Parkin, George Victor
Mar 20, 1940 – Jan 11, 2003
George passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. George, who is known as a man with a great sense of humour and generous nature, is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jean and their five children: Joan (Tom), Dale (Tanis), Sandy (John), Pat (Ray) and Ellen (Bruce). Sadly, George was predeceased by his daughter Cheryl Anne and his father Vic Parkin. His greatest regret at being taken from us so soon was that he would miss seeing his 12 grandchildren: Tara (Jerry), Kevin (Kelly), Kristen, Jesse, Stasia, Ryan, Ian, Jolene, Halle, Kora, Heidi and Brianna make their way in the world. George’s mother Helen and sisters: Noni McClure (Red), Donna Robertson (Jim), Marilyn Paisley, his loving extended family and many friends share the grief that his loss brings. A gathering of his family and friends will take place at PIERCY’S FUNERAL HOME, 440 England Ave., Courtenay on Saturday, January 18th, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. The family requests that for those who wish, donations may be made in George’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society, 565 West 10th Ave., Vancouver, B.C. V5Z 4J4 or the Comox Valley Hospice Society, 2137 Comox Avenue, Comox. PIERCY’S FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORIUM are in care of arrangements.
