April 7, 1941 - March 21, 2015
Vince Sexton passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on March 21, 2015 after a short battle with cancer. Vince was born in Fort Francis, Ontario and moved at age 12 with his family to Union Bay where he lived the rest of his life. Vince loved fishing, playing cards, and family. He is survived by his loving wife, of nearly 52 years, Penny and sons Michael (Deanna) and Colin (Martín) and his grandsons Tyler and Justin. He is also survived by his sister Joyce (Dick) and brothers Ted (Carol), Al (Noelleen), Rich (Patti), and Gord (Sandy), as well as a large extended family. Vince was predeceased by his Dad Art and Mom Olga.
A special thanks to brother Al, sister-in-law Terry, and great friend Steve for all of the help and support over the last few months. Also thanks to Dr. Robertson and nurse Kathy, and to the third floor nurses at St. Joseph’s.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA or BC Children’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated. At Vince’s request, there will be no Celebration of Life.
Tribute to Vince
This friend of mine named Vince who lived by the sea
There was no better friend that could ever be
We spent many good times fishing in the chuck
Most of the time we had pretty good luck
We liked to pick days that were calm & smooth
But sometimes the Wind God’s were in a bad mood
We had some great times out in the deep
So farewell my good friend, enjoy your sleep.
Steve.
