George William Starkell, a resident of Courtenay, died peacefully Wednesday May 12, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. George spent his formative years growing up in Winnipeg Manitoba where he met and married his wife Valann.
He and Valann then moved to Saskatoon Saskatchewan where they raised their children Catharine and David.
He was a loving grandfather to Rylan and Kohen who he liked to share his passions of fishing and golfing which he was able to indulge in during his retirement. George is best known for his daily neighborhood walks where he liked to chat with anyone he met along the way.
