Georgina Neville passed away peacefully on September 19, 2019 in Calgary, AB at the age of 97 years. She is survived by her daughter Dawn Hodgson (Brian) of Calgary AB, son-in-law Gregory Bowden of Vancouver BC, sister Sybil Sim and nephew Guy Sim of Comox BC, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Georgina was predeceased by husbands William McMahon (1969) and Wilkes Neville (2001), daughter Judi Bowden (2010), and sisters Marie and Dorothy.
Georgina was born in Comox on October 29, 1921 to George and Mabel Laban. She was raised on the family farm, Birkdale Farm, which is owned and operated today by her nephew Guy Sim. In 1941 she moved to Victoria to attend Victoria College and the St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing. She remained in Victoria where she raised her family and enjoyed a long and rewarding nursing career. She filled her spare time with gardening, long walks and time on the many beautiful beaches around Victoria. In 2007 she moved to Vancouver to be closer to family and after a three year stay she moved on to Calgary where she spent her final years with her family there.
