It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald William Linton.
Gerald is predeceased by (Father) William Linton, (Mother) Dorothy Linton (nee Huxley), (Sister) Merrell Waters and (brother) Ronnie Linton.
Survived by loving wife Shirley Linton (nee Messer) Children: David (Mindy), Chris (Lynn), Gavyn (Kathleen), Meegan (Jason) and Robson (Deana) and his brother Rick (Marilyn). Beloved Grandpa of 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Gerald served many years in Scouting from Scout Troop Leader to National Leadership in New Zealand and was an avid genealogist from an early age. He served faithfully in many church leadership positions for decades. Gerry also served in the Royal New Zealand Navy (11 years) as radio operator, the New Zealand Police Force (6 years), and then after immigrating to Canada in 1977, served in the Canadian Coast Guard (15 years) in Alert Bay and Comox.
Service to be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1901 20th Street, Courtenay at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 18th.
