Germaine, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed peacefully to her home with Jesus on Monday, October 11, 2021. She will join her parents, Marcel and Cecile Bourquin. Germaine had three brothers, Stanley, Raymond, and Randy. Stanley and Raymond predeceased her, and Randy lives in Comox. Germaine remained in close friendship with Marion, Raymond's wife.
Victoria was home to Germaine and Ben, where they raised five children, Sherry, Larry, Lani, Greg, and Rick, and were blessed with 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Germaine was a talented hair stylist and owned her own salon. Together they enjoyed renovating heritage homes, but after buying a small resort in Palm Springs, things changed.
Germaine's heart was opened to the Word of God and the Love of Jesus. And the Hope that the Holy Spirit gives us, and the promise of Salvation. This heartfelt belief encompassed her husband Ben, and their life became focused on spreading the good news. Singing and preaching in prison ministries, senior care homes, the Mustard Seed Church, and to each and every person that touched their lives. She loved the unloved as Jesus taught in His Word...it's easy to love family and friends, but Jesus calls us to love all. Germaine leaves her husband of 59 years, her children and their families, and many dear friends, but they all know that she is singing joyfully and basking in the light of Jesus.
