October 18, 1947 - January 30, 2021
Tina, surrounded by her loving family, and in her own home, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 30th. She fought a long hard battle with myeloma.
Tina will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years, Jim, her son Tom (Michelle) with their children Stepha, Harley and Karl and daughter Vicky with her children Aiden and Riva. Tina also leaves many extended family members and dear friends who were like family.
Born in Dresden, East Germany, Tina and her parents escaped to West Germany when she was a young girl. They started their lives over again and settled in Konstanz, West Germany. In 1971 Tina became a military bride and together with Jim began their nomadic life; moving to Canada to start the next chapter. They moved many times during their 49 year marriage and lived from one coast of Canada to the other, finally settling in the Comox Valley in 1996.
Tina had a passion for any hand made craft, from sewing to knitting but her special expertise was cross stitch and hardanger. Examples of her work have adorned her children's and her home for her lifetime.
After settling in the Comox Valley, Tina and Jim began their next great passion of traveling. They cruised extensively with Holland America all over the globe. A highlight included a trip on the Queen Mary II to Hamburg to attend their dear friend Karen's wedding, staying in Germany for several weeks.
A special thank you to Dr. Gee for his compassion, diligence and profound care. Thank you as well to the outstanding medical staff at Cancer Care and the North Island Hospital. A very special thank you to Dorothy and John, and Judy and Ron for their life long friendship.
