April 10, 1952 - August 22, 2018
Gidd (Doug) Hampton was born April 10, 1952 in Comox BC and died August 22, 2018 in Oliver BC.

He lived most of his life on the west coast where he became a respected machine operator, handyman and foreman in the logging industry. Gidd was a talented musician and sound technician and a source of musical encouragement to many. He was very proud to play alongside Bettyanne, the love of his life for 40+ years. His honest gripping voice will be missed and long remembered. Gidd was a valued friend and member of many music communities on the island and around BC.

Gidd showed kindness without fanfare, shared generously and was a good friend to many. He was a man of courage, fairness and fun. He always spoke his mind, sometimes in two words. Above all, Gidd loved and cherished his family.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Bettyanne, his kids Nonnie (Frank), Jesse (Sarah), Lindsey (Shaunn), and Dougie (Krizia), all of whom he was so proud of; brothers/sisters Sam (Andy), Dan (Leslie), Sharon, Sheila (Pete), Mike, Barry (Donna), sis in law Caryl, Alice (Chris) and heart sis Shauna (Russ). He'll be remembered fondly as a fun loving pull-my-finger Pop to his 7 grandkids Koah, Soli, Ember, Cale, Taylor, Tamara, and Ryver, awesome uncle to 26 nieces/nephews and grandnieces/nephews, and his dog Buddy.

Gidd is predeceased by his parents Doris (Day) Hampton and Howard Hampton. He lived a lot and touched many lives in his 66 years. A celebration of Gidd's life will be held Saturday, September 15th, 4:20pm at the Fallen Alders Hall in Royston, BC
