Williams

Ginni (Virginia) May

1937 - 2003

On June 8th, surrounded by her loving family, Ginni passed away after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. Survived by her husband, Gordon, children, Dan, Julie and Traci, and her grandchildren, Zachary, Dylan and Asia.

Ginni was born in Calgary, grew up in Vancouver and met and married Gordon while living in California. In 1967, Ginni, Gordon and their young children moved back to Vancouver, Canada. In 1979, Ginni, Gordon and youngest daughter, Traci took the adventure of a lifetime by sailing their 47 foot ketch, “The Shere Khan” up the inside passage to Alaska. Ginni also played classical guitar and enjoyed knitting and crocheting birthday and Christmas presents for her family.

Retired from her career in banking, Ginni and Gordon retired to the Comox Valley in a home by the sea in Royston. Ginni volunteered for many causes, but her favourites were at West Jet at the Comox Airport and the Comox Valley Therapeutic Gardens. Ginni’s passions included her garden, children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.

God saw you getting tired

When a cure was not to be

So He closed His arms

around you

And whispered,

“Come with Me”

You don’t deserve what you

went through

And so He gave you rest

God’s garden most beautiful

He only takes the best

In tears we saw you sinking

We watched you fade away

All our hearts were broken

You fought so hard to stay

But when we saw you sleeping

So peacefully from pain

We would not wish you back

To suffer the pain again.

A Service will be held on Friday, June 13th at 1:00 pm at the Courtenay Cemetery on Mission Hill.
