Gib Ladouceur, peacefully passed away on December 30, 2009 in Courtenay, BC at the age of 87 years. He is survived by his brother, Norbert (Elaine), his sisters: Orma Palmerchuk and Edith Arnold, sisters-in-law: Gunhild Ladouceur, Sonia Hutchinson, Mary MacKenzie (Ken) and numerous nieces and nephews. Gib will also be greatly missed by his niece, Bev.
Gib was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Olga; his parents; four brothers and three sisters.
Gib was born on Jan. 24, 1922 at Styal, AB. He enjoyed helping and doing things for family and friends. Gib loved the outdoors and he and Olga spent many days clam and oyster picking, hunting, camping and fishing. He was also an avid Legion member since 1948.
A Celebration of Gib’s life was held at the Courtenay Legion on Wednesday, January 6, 2009.
