Gladys passed away suddenly, Dec. 6, 2019, at The Views St. Joseph's Hospital, Comox, BC.
She was born Gladys Simmerson, in Viking, Alberta, married Jim Pollard, in Wainwright, Alberta, then settled in Edmonton to raise their family. Making yearly trips to Vancouver Island over the years for summer holidays they then moved from Edmonton to Courtenay in 1970 with the three youngest of their five children.
Over the years, Gladys enjoyed painting houses for her husband Jim's construction business, bowling in a women's league, playing in a weekly cribbage game with her girlfriends, playing bingo, crocheting, sewing, and then taking up artistic painting. No matter what she was doing she did with a smile.
She was predeceased by her husband Jim and her oldest daughter May. She is survived by her sons Art Pollard, and Doug Pollard, and daughters Gwen Exley, and Betty Reinhert, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and siblings.
She will be greatly missed.
