With sadness we announce the passing of Gordon January 21, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Gord was born in Hamilton, Ontario. The youngest of seven children. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Margaret of 56 years, his daughter Lora Jones PHD, son Gordon (Tina); grandchildren Kim Couture (Bill), Alison Todd (Darryl), Gordon, Kyle, Tasha Copland, one remaining sister Kathleen Cheeseman of Smithville, Ontario and many nieces and nephews.
Gord had been a builder for 25 years in the Comox Valley and 35 years in Ontario. He was a cabinet maker, painter, gardener, reader and just enjoyed his retirement. Member of Pearl Ellis Gallery for 17 years and served at Earl Naswell Christmas Dinner for 15 years.
Special thanks to all the caring doctors and nurses who helped him along the way.
A huge thank you to all the angels and elves who shovelled us out, sent good wishes, wrote poems about him, phoned with encouraging words, brought goodies, Home Care and the drivers who drove us in and out to the hospital.
A family celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined.
