BAILEY, Gordy


Gordon Henry Bailey born Lennoxtown, Scotland, March 1st, 1946 passed away peacefully Tuesday August 28th, 2012 in Courtenay, B.C.


Gordy is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife, Trisha, son Jesse (Nicki) of Courtenay, son Blake of Vancouver, B.C., and grandchildren Adam and Kayla of Courtenay, brothers Richard (Carol) Avedon-Savage and Dan (Louanne) Bailey and dear family friend Rae Jamieson. He will also be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Janet (Phil) Roux, Denise (Murray) Johnson, Stu (Bev) Johnson, Steve (Corinne) Johnson and many nieces and nephews.


Gordy enjoyed living and working in Powell River for 44 years. Over that time he made lots of friends, many through his work in construction and booming. He loved his time in the garden and kitchen and his special talent of rock carving. Anyone that knew Gordy, knew he could not resist a prize piece of brass.


Family and friends are invited to share their memories and stories at a Celebration of Life to be held Saturday, September 15th at Community Living Place, 6831 Artaban Street, Powell River, B.C. between 1pm and 4pm.
