1914 – 2008
Passed away peacefully on September 22nd at Cumberland Lodge.
Grace Farnell was actively involved in church activities no matter what community she lived in. She enjoyed working in health care at the Campbell River Hospital and as the House Mother at Bevan Lodge before retirement. She loved to garden, to sew and made friends easily. Her joy in life was being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Grace reminded us continually about what was truly important in life. To “Love the Lord our God with all your heart and with all your mind and with all your strength, and to love your neighbour as yourself”. Her example taught us well.
Lovingly remembered by her children and their families: Delcie (Mick) Hennig, Faye Schellenberg, Gary (Judy) Farnell, Judy (Tony) Yakielashek, Joanne (Alan) Dewey, Calvin (Clair) Farnell; 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.
Predeceased by her husband John Grant Farnell and by her daughter Karen (Ernie) Ellchuk.
A celebration of her life will be held at Comox Pentecostal Church on Saturday, October 4th at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Gideons.
The Farnell family wishes to thank the entire staff at Cumberland Lodge for all the compassionate care she received.
