It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gwen Peterson on December 19, 2016 at the Cumberland Lodge.
She is predeceased by her parents, daughter Wendy (Rob), son Brent, brother Grant, and recently her husband of sixty-three years Elwood/Pete.
She is survived by her children Patricia (Laurey), John (Corinne), Darrell (Melanie) and brothers Alan (Barb) and Cameron, seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.
Gwen lived and worked her whole adult life in the Comox Valley. She liked to be active and busy. She loved laughter, dancing, flower gardens, picnics at the beach, golfing, vacations, meeting old and new friends, and her family.
She had many enjoyable years volunteering with the Glacier View Lodge Auxiliary. Many thanks to the Cumberland Lodge care team.
A celebration of Gwen's life will be held on Friday April 7, 2017 at 11 am at Comox Valley Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay with reception to follow. Interment of ashes will be at the Courtenay Civic Cemetery following the service.
