Harold Lawrence

“Hammy”

October 26, 1938 – September 11, 2008

Larry passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 11th at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox, BC.

Larry is survived by his mother Elsie, sister Betty-Lou, brothers: Ron (Deb), Ken (Sue), and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Harold in 2004 and brother-in-law Sonny Jones in 2002.

Larry was born in Comox, BC on October 26, 1938. He graduated from Courtenay High School in 1959, and had various jobs in the Valley until he started working for Comox Creamery, later known as Dairyland, until retiring in 1995.

Hammy loved spending time in the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was an active member of Courtenay Fish & Game Club since he was a young boy where he volunteered his time guiding the junior members in various activities at the club.

Hammy’s favourite times were those spent on the many hunting, fishing and camping trips with his buddies from the Fish & Game club. One of the most memorable trips was his camping trip to Alaska.

Larry will be greatly missed, and remembered as a very kind, generous and loving son, brother, uncle and a friend to many.

The family would like to thank Dr. Crowe and all the nurses on the third floor at St. Joe’s for the care given to Larry.

A celebration of Larry’s life was held at the Courtenay Fish & Game Club on September 15th. Special thanks to all his friends at the Fish & Game Club for their help & support.

God Bless You Larry!

Till we meet again,

Love Mom & family
