CHRISTIE, Harold Rodney died peacefully in his home on Dec.12, 2010 at the age of 85 succumbing to cancer after living a full life.


Harold was born at St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Comox to Dr. Reginald and Mable Christie. He grew up in Royston and spent almost his entire life in the Comox Valley.


Harold will be remembered for his love of cooking, cars, boating, fishing, tinkering with engines and being his own mechanic. Harold was a philanthropist and an active Mason in the Hiram Lodge in Courtenay.


Harold was pre-deceased by his older brother George and is survived by his younger sister Joan, eight nephews and nieces, five great-nephews and nieces, his dear friend Percy Wilde and his beloved cat Kiera.


He will be truly missed for his spontaneous sense of humor and having puns for every situation.

A Memorial Service will take place at Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation & Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay on Saturday, December 18th, 2010 at 11 A.M.
